Abbey Lee - Fashionista of note

I always love her style. (Via: Stockholm Street Style)

The Gap-toothed ones - imperfectly perfect

Brigitte Bardot

Nothing is more beatiful than a woman embracing her quirky flaws. Fashion's love affair with the following gap-toothed beauties shows that imperfection are beautiful... and certainly very marketable...
Vanessa Paradis

Georgia May Jagger

Abbey Lee Kershaw

Ashley Smith

Iekeliene Stange

Lara Stone

Luda Dolgunin

So you may just want to reconsider getting those braces and veneers.

Pic of the Week

Sasha Pivovarova in Vogue Italia May 2010. Very bight, very bold.

Raphael Young

Spring/Summer '10

Lady Gaga is a big fan of Paris based designer Raphael Young and it is not hard to see why. His Spring/Summer and Autumn/winter 2010 shoe collections are divine (literally sent from heaven)! I love the super-high platform on the heels and the futuristic shapes of all the shoes. The shoes are serious works of art - bold, beautiful and architectural... I love it!
Autumn/Winter '10

The man himself...

Simple and chic

Yes, I love Vogue, and yes, I love Raquel Zimmermann. So naturally, I love this editorial of her in the June/July of Vogue Paris. What I also love is the styling of the shoot - we all love being propped on a pair of killer heels with our best LBD on, but nothing is more chic than a confident girl in a great pair of jeans or pants, a simple tee and a gorgeous jacket. The jackets in this editorial are incredible - very rock and roll.

Constance Jablonski is a 'Wild Child'

One beautifully bronzed French model clad in the most luxurious prints from the likes of Gucci, Emilio Pucci, BCBG Max Azria and Proenza Schouler - definitely a recipe for a gorgeous editiorial. Constance Jablonski looks beautiful in the June 2010 issue of Vogue China. I love the mix of bright prints and the whole 'tribal' feel of the editorial.

Daria Werbowy in controversial 'Interview Magazine' editorial

What would the fashion industry be without a little controversy now and then? The latest storm surrounds the Mikael Jansson-shot May 2010 Interview Magazine editorial featuring Daria Werbowy. Titled "Let's Get Lost", the editorial has been dubbed racist and highly sexualised by some, and artistically beautiful by others - either way, the editorial is provocative.
Fashion website Refinery 29 believes that, "From the differences in their dress (Daria's in ethereal, angel-like gowns, the others are in knits and leathers) to their body language (A limp yet super-sexual Daria is the main focus, the others feel almost like props), the whole spread has a rather racist vibe that we can't get down with... After all, regardless of what some say, fashion is at its core a political and social product - how power relationships are set up in editorials can speak volumes." Fashion Gone Rogue commentates that, "Unfortunately, it is the editorial's core cast of talented models such as Sedene Blake, Ajak Deng, Salieu Jalloh and Oraine Barrett that get lost in the misguided role of background noise." Whilst Fashion Bomb Daily is of the opinion that, "Daria is the ‘main girl' in the feature, but that's about as far as it goes. The differences in skin colour are only used for artistic contrast-to beautiful effect."

I don't think that the intention of the editorial was to portray any racial stereotypes, but I can see how some people might take offense to it. What are your thoughts on the matter?

I am loving the June issue of Elle South Africa! Sarah Jessica Parker looks gorgeous on the cover and of course, the fashion in the mag is impeccable. My favourite section in the mag? The Elle street looks - nothing is better than everyady fashionistas who mix the cheap with the chic. J'adore.

'Keep it short'

French model Constance Jablonski in the June issue of Vogue UK. As the title says, the spread is all about shorts. More specifically, Dolce & Gabbana, Armani, Diane Von Furstenberg and Hermes shorts, amongst others. You can't go wrong with that, now can you?
