Zee Fashionista: November 2010

Balmain, I love you.

                                Christophe Decarnin...
                                                            is a genius.

Switch your hair up

In celebration of my new, BIG, hairstyle, I bring you another equally dramatic hair-do.

The ever-lovely Ms. Karlie Kloss looking supremely fierce in a short black hairstyle. Granted, it's a wig. But it's amazing what a little tweaking to the the hair can do for you.

In this December 2010 US Vogue pictorial titled 'Glow in the Dark', Karlie wears some stunning bright pieces that go very well with the hair. Some gorgeous jumpsuits by Celine and Yves Saint Laurent and cute minaudières (small ornamental cases for a woman's cosmetics) by the likes of Salvatore Ferragamo, Bottega Veneta and Emilio Pucci.

The clothes, make-up, accessories and jewellery are just perfect. Love it.

All red everything. I love this image from the Winter issue of POP magazine.

Fashion illustration

Another part of fashion I love is fashion illustrations. There are many talented fashion illustrators out there. My favourite is Sabine Pieper. Her work is always incredibly awe-inspiring. These are just some of her gorgeous illustrations. Check out more of them on her website.

These are some more great looks from Stockholm Street Style. I reckon that there is nothing more sexy than a stylish woman. Take the first look for instance: quintessential style - a perfect fitting jacket and pants. Not too much, but just right. A pair of some killer heels wouldn't hurt too... J'adore.

Fashion introspection #1

What's on my mind these days are all things brown, beige, camel and the like. Animal prints, super-high wedges and stacked heels. Leather backpacks, furs, rings and vintage things...

I ♥ Lanvin for H&M

These are some of my favourite looks from the Lanvin for H&M collection. I want all these dresses!

'She Morphed'

These images by Vikram Pathak for Fashionising.com are super striking. The fashion is edgy, wearable, chic and avant garde all at the same time. The styling by Aletia Gonzalez is impeccable and the model, Dani, is perfect for this type of shoot. It's really great to see Fashionising spreading it's wings further as a fashion website. Love it.

Mrs Jacobs

Em, yeah, okay... I wasn't quite sure what to make of this Industrie #2 F/W 2010 cover of Marc Jacobs photographed by Patrick Demarchelier. (That really is Marc Jacobs, by the way)

He does look fierce as Mrs Jacobs though, I guess. I mean, the socks, heels, coat, hair - pretty chic.

Then again, it is Marc Jacobs. He's allowed to be different.

We love us some Zara

These are some of my favourite looks from Spanish label, Zara's, November 2010 Look Book. Of course it features the latest staple items - blazers, animal prints, military, leather, aviator jackets etc. I love that it's a perfect mix of some fashion forward pieces with some trendy, wearable items. I cannot wait for the full Zara store to open next year in Sandton, South Africa. Happy days...
